Man killed in alleged shootout with police, stolen car recovered
An unidentified man who allegedly engaged the police in Guy's Hill, St Catherine, in a shootout was shot and killed on Thursday morning and a stolen motor car reportedly recovered.
The police say they received information that men were spotted in a stolen motor car about 5 a.m.
A police team went to the Mooreland community in Guy's Hill and was reportedly fired upon by a group of gunmen.
The police say the fire was returned and the hoodlums escaped in another vehicle. However, one man was found suffering from gunshot wounds.
He succumbed to the injuries received.
A motor car, which was reported stolen was recovered.
An investigation is under way by the Independent Commission of Investigations.
