Bus driver accused of having sex with 15 year old girl granted bail

A St Catherine bus driver who is charged with having sex with a person under 16 years old was granted $500,000 bail when he appeared in the St Catherine Parish Court on Tuesday.
The 35 year old was issued a stern warning to stay away from the 15-year-old complainant.
"Your duty is to disappear if you see her," Judge Desiree Alleyne said.
He was also ordered not to operate any public passenger vehicle.
It is alleged that in late March he picked up the complainant and, instead of taking her to her destination, he diverted from the route and sexually assaulted her.
The matter was reported to the police and an investigation was launched, which resulted in the arrest and charge of the accused.
He is scheduled to reappear in court on June 4.
