Growth & Jobs | D&G Foundation uplifts Trench Town’s waitressing trainees
Eleven waitering students training at the Boys’ Town Vocational Training Centre warmly welcomed the Desnoes and Geddes Foundation (D&G) for an enriching coaching session.
The students showed keen interest in financial literacy and its impact on personal and economic development as they asked questions and provided feedback on taxation. Following a debate-filled discussion on their financial future, the foundation delved into essential topics such as workplace etiquette and life skills.
The foundation has already extended its training to 59 students this year, complementing the 139 students trained last year. The training encompasses bartending, forklift operation, merchandising, and essential life skills, enriching the skill set of individuals in diverse areas of expertise.
The D&G Foundation’s consistent participation in ongoing training sessions is part of its Learning for Life youth-development programme in partnership with the HEART NSTA Trust.
