Colleen Lowe appointed new Clerk to the Houses of Parliament
Attorney-at-law and deputy clerk, Colleen Lowe, has been elevated to the post of Clerk to the Houses of Parliament, following the retirement of Valrie Curtis.
Lowe's appointment took effect today.
Lowe pursued her law degree at the University of Hertfordshire and the Bar Professional Training Course at the BPP Law School in the United Kingdom.
She was called to the United Kingdom Bar Association at Lincoln Inn Fields in March 2012 and the Jamaican Bar in July 2014. She holds a Certificate of Legal Education from the Norman Manley Law School.
She is also the holder of a master of business administration degree from the University of Suffolk, United Kingdom. She is also a certified mediator in both the UK and Jamaica.
Lowe is a graduate of Glenmuir High School in Clarendon.
During her professional career in Jamaica, Lowe worked at the law firm Lopez & Lopez and the National Land Agency.
She also worked at the Electoral Commission of Jamaica as a legal officer before she took up the role in the Houses of Parliament as the deputy clerk in May 2022.
