Entrepreneur Paul Patmore of Lowe River in Trelawy is set to represent the People's National Party (PNP) in the constituency of South Trelawny in the next general election.

"I have been active in the constituency prior to the local government election and I have since stepped up my work in meeting the constituents," Patmore said.

Between 2004 and 2008, Patmore was an independent councillor in the Trelawny Municipal Corporation.

He gave the following reason for his sabbatical since 2008.

"My Organic Gold Fertilizer needed a lot of time to get it fully established. Now it is ready and going [and] I have time to further serve the people of South Trelawny. As fate would have it, there is no Member of Parliament for the area. Remember Marisa Dalrymple-Philibert resigned in September 2023. I have to prepare just in case there is a by-election. I don't want to he caught asleep," said Patmore.

A funeral home director, who is promoting the use of mausoleum for burials, expressed confidence in winning at the polls, which are due next year.

"The choice of Devon McDaniel as the Jamaica Labour Party candidate makes my attempt easier," declared Patmore.
