Senior Vice President of Home Depot, Jamaican Ann-Marie Campbell, has announced that she will be donating US$100,000 to her alma mater, Holy Childhood High School for Girls located in St Andrew.

Campbell made the announcement while addressing Holy Childhood High School International Alumni Association Gala in Florida on May 18.

The alumni association announced during the same event that it would be donating US$10,000 to the school, as well.

The US$100,000 donation will be used to fund the renovation and upgrade of the school’s gymnasium, which will provide a safe and modern facility for students to engage in physical activity and sports. The donation will also support the purchase of new equipment and technology to enhance the overall athletic experience for students along with assisting needy students with their educational pursuits.

“I am thrilled to be able to give back to my alma mater and to see the impact that this donation will have on current and future students,” said Campbell, who graduated from Holy Childhood High School in 1981 and has since gone on to achieve great success at Home Depot. Despite her accomplishments, she has never forgotten her roots and has always been committed to giving back to the school and its students.

The principal of Holy Childhood, Sister Maxine McIntosh, who also attended the gala, said the funds would allow the school to upgrade its sports facilities, noting that sports is an important part of the school’s curriculum.

As per the president of the alumni Association, Evangelist Dr Michelle Richards, the Holy Childhood High School International Alumni will also donate $10,000 from proceeds of the gala along with Tamarac’s Commissioner Marlon D. Bolton, who also donated US$1,000.

Welcoming the donation by Campbell, Sister McIntosh said, “We are incredibly grateful for Ann-Marie Campbell’s generosity and continued commitment to our school. This donation will have a lasting impact on our students and our community, and we are thrilled to have the Holy Childhood International Alumni Association as a partner in our efforts to provide a world-class education.”

Also in attendance were Commissioner Denise Grant, of the City of Lauderhill, who presented a commendation to Campbell, Tamar Hamilton, PA running for Judge; Carla Spaulding, alum running for Congress, and alum Dr Diane Moore Eubanks, Miss Senior Black America.

The theme of the gala was ‘the Great Gatsby’ and alums travelled from near and far, including but not limited to Jamaica, The Cayman Islands, Canada and many of the US states to attend and support the gala.

Holy Childhood High School is a public all-girls high school located in St Andrew, Jamaica. The school is committed to providing a comprehensive education that prepares students for success in college, careers, and beyond.
