Correctional officer accused of attempting to smuggle ganja into penal facility gets March trial date

Correctional officer Morris Bennett, who is charged for allegedly trying to smuggle a quantity of ganja into the St Catherine Adult Correctional Centre is to be tried on March 3,2025.

The date was set when Bennett appeared before the parish court today.

It was revealed that the forensic certificate and other relevant documents are now on file.

Bennett's $800,000 bail was further extended.

Allegations are that on October 8, Bennett was held with a quantity of ganja

He was arrested and subsequently charged with possession of ganja, dealing in ganja and introducing contraband to a penal institution.
