One of two men charged over shooting at wake for grandmother of entertainer Christopher Martin seeking bail
Twenty-four-year-old Junior Coleman, who is one of two men charged over the gun attack at the wake of the grandmother of reggae artiste Christopher Martin, is seeking bail.
During an application in the St Catherine Parish Court today, the parish judge requested a community report and an antecedent report before bail can be considered.
Coleman, who is charged with murder, using a firearm to commit a felony, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition and being a member of a criminal gang, was further remanded until February 7 next year.
His co-accused Javaughn Dwyer was not in court today.
Allegations are that about 12:45 a.m. on August 24, Coleman and others went to Back Pastures district in St Catherine where a wake was being held.
The group reportedly fired indiscriminately on persons, injuring seven.
In a related attack, the gunmen then shot 34-year-old O'Neil Spencer repeatedly.
He died from injuries received.
An investigation was launched which resulted in the men being arrested and later charged.
