Security guard arrested in Clarendon in relation to gun seizure

A 38-year-old security guard has been taken into custody by the Clarendon police after he was allegedly held with an illegal gun in the parish this morning.

Reports are that about 12:10 a.m., the police were on mobile patrol in Rocky Point, Clarendon, when they searched the security guard. 

During the search a Ruger pistol affixed with a magazine containing seven rounds of ammunition was reportedly seized from him.

He was arrested on suspicion of possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.
