Curfew imposed in sections of Spanish Town
The police have imposed a curfew in sections of Spanish Town in St Catherine.
The communities of Oxford Road, Railway, Dela Vega City/ Port Henderson (Okro Lane) and Dallas Lane are affected.
The curfew came against violence is sections of Spanish Town today arising from a fatal police shooting.
For Oxford Road and Railway, the curfew covers:
North: From the intersection of the Spanish Town Bypass and Oxford Road to the train line along Oxford Road.
East: From the train line at Oxford Road to the intersection of the train line at March Pen Road.
South: From the intersection of the train line at March Pen Road and Spanish Town Bypass to the intersection of March Pen Road and Spanish Town Bypass.
West: From the intersection of March Pen Road to the intersection of Oxford Road and the train line.
In the other areas, the boundaries are:
North: From the Spanish Town Bypass and March Pen Road travelling along March Pen Road to the intersection of Burke Road and March Pen Road.
East: From the intersection of Port Henderson Road travelling along Burke Road to Hospital Bridge.
South: From the intersection of Burke Road and Hospital Bridge travelling along an imaginary to the intersection Port Henderson Road and Lilliput Road.
West: From the intersection of Lilliput Road and Port Henderson Road travelling along Lilliput Road along an imaginary line to the intersection of the Spanish Town Bypass and March Pen Road.
The curfew began at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7 and will remain in effect until 6:00 p.m., on Sunday, February 9.
Persons are required to remain indoors unless otherwise authorised by the person in charge of enforcing the curfew.
