Custos Steadman Fuller to deliver Throne Speech at Parliament opening
Thursday's Throne Speech during the ceremonial opening of Parliament is to be delivered by Custos of Kingston Steadman Fuller.
The disclosure was made in a media release from the Houses of Parliament on Wednesday.
Governor General Sir Patrick Allen had spinal surgery in December and has been recovering from the procedure.
The Throne Speech will outline the Government’s legislative agenda for the upcoming parliamentary year.
The ceremonial opening of Parliament will feature the formal arrival of parliamentary officials, members of both Houses of Parliament and other dignitaries, and will include the traditional inspection of the Guard of Honour.
The proceedings will be broadcast live via the Public Broadcasting Corporation of Jamaica (PBCJ), the Jamaica Information Service (JIS) and other media platforms.
After the Ceremony, the House of Representatives will convene at 2:00 p.m. for the tabling of the 2025/2026 Estimates of Expenditure.
