Manchester teen found under bed charged with house breaking

A 19-year-old labourer from Huntley district, Manchester, who was found hiding under a bed after allegedly breaking into a house in his community, has been charged.

Shane Powell was charged Wednesday with house breaking and larceny over the incident that occurred on Tuesday, the police say.

Powell, also known as ‘Bartley,’ was arrested after police found him under the bed inside the ransacked home of a woman who had left for work earlier that day.

According to reports from the Mandeville police, the woman securely locked her house at 10:50 a.m. and returned at 5:10 p.m. to find it broken into and several items missing.
