Spanish Town man charged after loaded gun found in car
A 47-year-old man from Spanish Town, St Catherine has been charged after he was allegedly found with a loaded firearm in his vehicle.
Gregory Ferguson, also known as 'Ruff', a self-employed individual from 14 Duncan's Pen Road in Spanish Town, was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.
The charges follow an incident on February 16, when police intercepted a Nissan Tiida motor car driven by Ferguson around 12:45 p.m.
During a search of the vehicle, law enforcement officers reportedly discovered a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol, along with a magazine containing six rounds of ammunition, inside the driver's door.
Ferguson was arrested.
He was subsequently questioned in the presence of his legal representative on Saturday.
The police say a court date is currently being arranged for his appearance.
