Two men, both in their 30s, lost their lives in the last 24 hours after they were thrown from their cars in separate crashes that have been linked to speeding.

The names of the men, ages 31 and 34, have not been released by the police.

The first crash occurred along the PJ Patterson Highway in St Catherine at about 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The driver of a Honda motor car was reportedly “traveling at a high rate of speed” when he lost control of the vehicle before it crashed into the guardrail to the left of the roadway, a police report said.

He was thrown from the vehicle and later died at a hospital.

The second crash occurred about 1 a.m. today along New Holland main road in St Elizabeth.

The police report that the car was “traveling at a high rate of speed” when the driver lost control.

It reportedly veered to the left of the roadway and crashed into a tree along the left side of the road.

The force of the crash caused the driver to be thrown from the vehicle.
