Lionel Messi was noticeably absent from the arrival of the Inter Miami squad on Thursday evening ahead of the first leg of the round of 16 match against Cavalier FC at the Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Reports had been circulating that Messi would miss the first game.

Other players, such as Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba, were seen arriving on the team’s bus.

A later post on the team’s Instagram page of its starting lineup did not feature Messi.

This will mark Messi’s second consecutive game missed due to an apparent injury.

As of now, no official reason has been given for his absence.
