A 54-year-old St Catherine man charged for the alleged sexual molestation of his 15-year-old stepdaughter was on Tuesday granted $300,000 bail with one or two sureties.

The accused is answering charges of sexual touching, sexual grooming, and indecent assault.

As part of his bail, the man was ordered to report to the Spanish Town Police Station twice per week, surrender his travel documents, and submit his fingerprints.

Senior Parish Court judge Desiree Alleyne in the St Catherine Parish Court warned the accused not to contact the complainant.

The case is to return to court on April 1.

Allegations are that the accused molested the complainant, who was under his care.

The child ran away from home and related her alleged plight to a family member.

The police were contacted and an investigation was launched.

The accused was held and subsequently charged.
