BambuSparks to host inaugural Publishing Summit & Expo in Jamaica
BambuSparks Publishing is enhancing its mission to birth 10,000 new Caribbean authorpreneurs by 2030 with an inaugural Publishing Summit & Expo to be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Technology Innovation Centre at the University of Technology, Jamaica.
Cameka Ruth Taylor, CEO of BambuSparks, said it is a transformative event for authors, book lovers, and creatives in the publishing industry that will connect attendees with industry professionals, provide hands-on publishing solutions, and celebrate literary excellence in Jamaica.
“It is an opportunity to network with the publishing professionals who aspiring authors need to publish and market their bestselling books,” Taylor said.
The expo will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
• Publishing workshops (9:00 a.m. – 12 noon) – Hosted by the expert BambuSparks team, these sessions will offer insights into book creation, publishing, and marketing strategies.
• Live publishing consultations (12:00 – 1:00 p.m.) – Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with publishing coaches for one-on-one discussions about their book projects.
• Expo with multi-author book launch and awards ceremony (2:00 – 4:00 p.m.) – This celebratory segment, hosted by renowned Jamaican educator and comedian Owen ‘Blakka’ Ellis, will feature new book launches and recognise outstanding achievements in publishing.
