Jamaicans warned about fake online job advertisements
The Ministry of Labour and Social Security (MLSS) is alerting Jamaicans about fraudulent job advertisements misusing the ministry’s logo and branding.
In a media release on Thursday, the ministry said the false advertisements claim that it offers remote job opportunities for unemployed individuals and daily earnings of $8,000 to $18,000.
"We urge job seekers to verify job opportunities by checking the MLSS website and social media pages before clicking links or making payments. Visit the Ministry's official website for legitimate local and overseas job placement opportunities," it said.
The ministry is also urging persons to report these scams to the police or contact the Ministry at (876) or 876-922-8000-13 or clientcare@mlss.gov.jm.
