St Catherine man sentenced to five years in prison for burning down gas station
A 23-year-old Lluidas Vale, St Catherine man was on Friday sentenced to five years in prison for burning down a gas station in the area in 2021.
Travaughn Rattigan pleaded guilty to arson.
He was sentenced by Justice Yvonne Brown in the St Catherine Circuit Court.
Rattigan was 19 at the time of the incident, which occurred on May 7, 2021.
Facts are that the Petcom gas station located in Lluidas Vale was gutted by fire.
An investigation was launched, leading to Rattigan's arrest.
He was subsequently charged with arson and has remained in custody since his arrest four years ago.
