Man charged after allegedly being held with gun at Mountain View Avenue party
The Kingston East police have charged a man after he was allegedly held with a gun in a bag at a party on Mountain View Avenue early this morning.
Charged with being in possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition is 34-year-old taxi operator Rory McFarlane, a resident of the area.
His court date is being finalised.
Reports from the Elletson Road police are that about 1:00 a.m., a police team was on mobile patrol duties in the area when they saw a party in session.
The team went to check the venue regarding the party’s permit and saw McFarlane, whose actions aroused their suspicion.
He was accosted and searched.
During the search, the firearm was found in a bag that he had in his possession.
He was subsequently taken into custody and charged following an interview session.
