Police constable stabbed by prisoner at Montego Bay lock-up
A police constable was attacked and stabbed in the head by a prisoner at the Montego Bay lock-up in St James on Saturday.
The constable, who is assigned to the police’s Detention and Courts Division, was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital for treatment.
The attacker, who is in custody on a murder charge, has since been charged with felonious wounding.
Reports are that about 5:15 p.m., the policeman was at the lock-up checking off prisoners when he was pounced upon and attacked by the man, who stabbed him with a makeshift knife.
