Westmoreland labourer charged with gun and ammunition possession

Thirty-two-year-old labourer Ricardo Kerr, of Strathbogie district in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland, has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition following a stop and search in his community on Friday.
The Savanna-la-Mar police say about 10 p.m., lawmen were in the area and noticed a group of men acting in a manner that aroused suspicion.
The men were approached and searched and the firearm and ammunition were reportedly removed from Kerr's waistband.
He was arrested and subsequently charged.
His court date is being finalised.
