Popular social media personality ‘Candy Wow’, whose real name is Keresia Brown, was remanded when she appeared before the St Catherine Parish Court today on a charge of assault occasioning bodily harm in relation to an attack on a woman at her stall in Old Harbour.

The Passport, Immigration & Citizenship Agency (PICA) has been called in to determine her nationality as the court was informed that Brown has indicated that she is not Jamaican.

The court heard that Brown has indicated that she is an Irish national and that the accused has been operating under different names.

She has reportedly claimed to have done a deed poll to change her name.

A PICA representative informed the court that a thorough investigation will be conducted.

In court today, Brown pleaded not guilty and told Parish Judge Yvette Wentworth-Miller that she does not have a lawyer.

She was remanded to get legal representation by May 16, when the case will again be mentioned.

Allegations are that on April 13, the complainant was selling at her stall in Old Harbour, St Catherine when she was attacked and assaulted by Brown.

A report was made, which resulted in her arrest and subsequent charge.
