Eight-year-old girl among three killed in Clarendon crash

The victims of Saturday’s motor vehicle collision along Salt River Road in Clarendon have been identified.

They are eight-year-old Samoya Miranda, a grade three student of Marlie Mount Primary and Infant School in Old Harbour, St Catherine; her mother, Princess Simmonds; and Fredrick Reid, a 46-year-old electrician of a Salt River district address.

According to reports, the victims were travelling in a motor car which collided with a truck along the roadway.

The police say the circumstances of the crash are still being investigated.

The tragic incident has left the community in mourning.
