The St Catherine South police have charged 33-year-old Rajive Ramjeet, otherwise called ‘Gaza Man’, in connection with the theft and destruction of a motor vehicle during incidents in Central Village and Portmore, St Catherine, earlier this month.

Ramjeet has been charged with larceny of motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, and malicious destruction of property.

The incidents reportedly occurred between Sunday night, July 6, and Monday afternoon, July 7.

Police reports indicate that the complainant locked and secured her white 2016 Toyota Noah at her home on Sunday night. However, by the following morning, the vehicle was gone.

On Tuesday, July 7, police on patrol discovered the partially scrapped Toyota Noah among other stolen vehicles along Municipal Boulevard.

Investigations led to Ramjeet's arrest during an operation on Tuesday, July 8.

He was charged after a question-and-answer session in the presence of a Justice of the Peace and is to appear in the St Catherine Parish Court on July 22.
