A St Catherine motorcyclist, Rodeen Brown, has pleaded guilty to causing the death of a woman during a traffic crash and is to be sentenced on October 24.

Brown, 35, is now convicted of causing the death of Camille Burke of Glengoffe District, St Catherine.

He pleaded guilty to one count of causing death by dangerous driving while appearing before Justice Dale Palmer in the St Catherine Circuit Court on Friday. His bail was extended pending sentencing.

According to the facts of the case, on January 20, 2019, Brown was driving a motorbike in Glengoffe when he reportedly lost control of the bike and slammed into Burke, who was standing on the side of the road.

Burke sustained severe injuries and was taken to hospital, where she later died.

The matter was initially heard in the St Catherine Coroner’s Court, which ruled that Brown should be tried in the case.
