The National Association of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists (NAHC) is set to stage its annual trade show the 'Reset, Recharge, Reignite Your Passion' Beauty Expo, today at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston.

Originally slated for November 16, last year, as a signature feature of the NAHC’s Beauty Services and Wellness Expo, 'Refresh, Rejuvenate, and Reset', the showcase was postponed in the wake of Hurricane Melissa to allow for recovery efforts following the devastating impact of the Category 5 storm.

The industry gathering is expected to bring together an international network of beauty professionals, distributors, educators, and emerging talent from across Jamaica and beyond.

In keeping with this year’s theme, the Expo aims to inspire transformation, promote innovation, and reignite passion within the beauty and barbering professions and organisers have promised attendees a thoughtfully curated programme of education, creativity, and collaboration.

The NAHC, a not-for-profit organisation celebrating its 38th year of service, serves as the national umbrella body for beauty and barbering practitioners in Jamaica. Since hosting its inaugural hair and beauty show, the association has maintained a commitment to advancing education, professional development, and industry innovation.

Today, the NAHC’s annual trade show gathers haircare professionals, makeup artists, salon owners, educators, and trendsetters. This year, more than 1,200 attendees are expected to participate in a programme that will feature:

●Live demonstrations showcasing the latest styling and colouring techniques

●Exclusive product launches from leading beauty brands

●Expert-led panel discussions on digital marketing, sustainable salon practices, and advanced cosmetology and barbering techniques

Through this immersive platform, the NAHC said it continues to position its members and stakeholders at the forefront of the evolving beauty and wellness industry.

Participants will have access to a wide range of hands-on workshops led by industry professionals. Sessions will cover hairdressing, barbering, skincare, nail artistry, and other specialised disciplines, providing learning opportunities for both seasoned practitioners and students.

The Expo will feature competitions designed to showcase creativity, innovation, and technical excellence. Competitors will present their skills in categories ranging from avant-garde hair design to cutting-edge makeup artistry.

In support of emerging professionals, the NAHC noted that it would provide student competitors with access to industry-leading products, tools, and educational resources that will help strengthen their skills and accelerate their career development.

Beyond technical training, the NAHC said the Expo would offer valuable opportunities for professional growth.

Keynote speakers and industry experts will share insights on future trends, equipping attendees with strategies to succeed in an increasingly competitive global marketplace.

In addition, the expanded venue is slated to host a diverse lineup of exhibitors, including internationally recognised brands and innovative boutique companies. Attendees will also benefit from meaningful networking opportunities with peers, mentors, and potential business partners, encouraging collaboration and the exchange of ideas.

The Expo gets under way at 9:00 a.m. and runs until 7:00 p.m.
