Jason Omar Channer, otherwise called ‘Popeye’, who was listed by the police as wanted for murder, is now in custody.

Channer surrendered today in the company of his attorney.

He was being sought in connection with the murder of 54-year-old Rohan ‘Fatta’ Lee.

Lee was fatally shot on October 13, 2025, along Belvedere main road in Red Hills, St Andrew, about 1:30 a.m., investigators said.

Channer, who is from the Waggles area of Belvedere, had been on the radar of detectives attached to the Constant Spring Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).

Following his surrender, the St Andrew North Police Division is renewing a call for other wanted men to turn themselves in.

Being sought are Shevon Matthews, otherwise called ‘Max’, of Zambia, Central Village, St Catherine, and Blue Hole district, Red Hills, St Andrew; Emar Grinham, otherwise called ‘Bully Beef’, of Andrews Pen, Kingston 8; Kenroy Willis, otherwise called ‘Papa’, of Rosehall, Lawrence Tavern, St Andrew, who is wanted for murder and listed as a person of interest in several other shootings and murders; and Tevin Harris, otherwise called ‘Ratty’, of 100 Lane, Kingston 19, and 51 Bond Street, Kingston 14.

The police highlighted that the division remains the only one of the island’s 19 policing divisions without a recorded murder since the start of 2026.

Investigators say this underscores ongoing efforts to maintain order and reduce violent crime within the division.

The police are asking anyone with information on gangs, guns, and wanted men to contact the Constant Spring CIB.
