Saint models spread cheer
On December 23, the grounds of the Best Care Children's Home (run by the Best Care Foundation), located on Trevennion Road, were transformed into a virtual excitement zone for Saint International's second annual Christmas treat for the disabled residents.
Balloon art, snow-cone machines, bounce-about, music (and live performances), food, clown, face painting, and fashion all created the perfect mix of Christmas fun and frolic for the children.
Moved by a radio interview in 2014 with Best Care's Chairman Orville Johnson lamenting the fall in support for the vital institution, Saint's CEO Deiwght Peters took up the cause.
At that time, the possibility of cancelling the Christmas treat was real. Peters marshalled his models and several corporate entities in short order to stage a delightful treat. This year, the treat was bigger and better.
Several corporate entities again partnered with the modelling agency to make this Christmas a special one. These included C&WJ Cooperative Credit Union, Jamaica National, Island Grill, CariMed, Kremi, Jamaica Broilers, WISYNCO, Clear Sounds, Excelsior, Evolution Art Studio, Pure Ice, and chef Karl Thomas.
The fun was augmented by live performances from recording artistes Beri and One Third, and a fashion show by Saint models featuring designers Tasha Gordon's TNT Fashion, Andre Shirley, and Nina and Karl Brown's Hattitude. Here are the highlights.
