Melia Braco Village: Best of the Best
WESTERN BUREAU:
Freddie McGregor docked an impressive catalogue at the poolside of the Meli· Braco Village Resort on Sunday night, delivering a stellar performance which included his hit tune Big Ship Sailing on the Ocean.
McGregor, a legend in the music industry, was the main act at the hotel's celebratory party after being awarded the Caribbean's Leading New Resort title at the Caribbean and North America World Travel Awards last Saturday night at Sandals Ochi Beach Resort.
McGregor, a stalwart, who for more than 50 years has effortlessly synergised the power of his voice with hit songs, had the Meli· Braco audience at his command.
When he pulled for Dennis Brown's renowned anthem, Love and Hate, the crowd provided back-up harmony. It was a sing-a-long which saw the Push Come to Shove singer ruling supreme with To Be Poor is a Crime.
However, there was nothing poor about Sunday night. The 'richness' of the just under one-year-old resort was evident in the array of food on display; the masterful entertainment presented by the team, and the decor which was very pleasing to the eyes.
With Prime Minister Andrew Holness as their special guest, he noted that he has experienced the passion points of the hotel that Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett speaks of weekly. All general manager, Dimitris Kosvogiannis needed to make his night was confirmation that a good night was had, from his boss Minister of Labour Shahine Robinson.
Operated under the Meli· brand, the Trelawny resort is the pride and joy of owners the National Insurance Fund.
