Christmas and Canvas supports a great cause
Christmas and Canvas was an intimate and interactive Paint and Sip fundraiser for the Sickle Cell Support Foundation of Jamaica.
The event was coordinated by Andrea Hall mother of deceased former beauty queen Shakira Martin through their Shaks' Hope Foundation, and Natalie Roach, vice-president of the Sickle Cell Support Foundation of Jamaica.
Last Sunday's event captured an intimate setting with persons whose support has sentimental connections to the debilitating illness and others who came out in support of a great cause.
Hosted by former Miss Jamaica Universe Kaci Fennell-Shirley, it featured Miss Universe Jamaica 2016, Isabel Daley, who is also the spokesperson of the Shaks' Hope Foundation.
Shakira Martin, who was a Miss Jamaica Universe contestant in 2011, lost her battle with sickle cell in August. Affectionately called Shaks, the mission of Shak's Hope is to raise awareness about the sickle cell disease, while providing services that improve the quality of life for those afflicted with sickle cell anaemia in South Florida and Jamaica.
