FLOW rolls out '50-day' Olympics countdown
Telecommunications giants FLOW rolled out an exciting and colourful 50-day Rio Olympics countdown celebration on Friday evening at Mandela Park in Half-Way Tree.
According to FLOW's vice-president of marketing and products, Carlo Redwood, his company will be looking to offer high-definition, multi-channel and multi-platform Olympics experience in Jamaica, as well as to more than seven million people across 15 Caribbean markets.
"We have to kick-off what we will be doing around the Olympics ... as official broadcast sponsors. We will be giving every single FLOW customer three dedicated Olympic channels from the start of the Olympics to the finish, so you're gonna see FLOW Olympic Channels one, two and three at no additional cost, " Redwood pointed out.
He said that was the main message behind FLOW'S celebratory roll-out in Mandela Park.
"We wanted to tell all of Jamaica that you have to become a FLOW customer now," added Redwood, who said FLOW is hoping to broadcast the best Olympics ever across mobile and television platforms.
FLOW has launched a FLOW Extra Rio 2016 application, where customers who download that app on their computer, tablet or smart device can keep up with everything Olympics and view live streaming.
"You don't have to pay extra for the FLOW Olympic channels. We expect to get a lot of customers, but we also want to reward the customers that we have," he explained.
While some areas in Jamaica might not have FLOW access, Redwood said the organisation will be aggressive in its move to help more Jamaicans "take advantage of what is a spectacular offer".
GREAT COVERAGE
He stressed: "FLOW is ready to provide the most comprehensive coverage of the Olympic Games the people of the region have ever seen."
The Games will get up and running on August 5, and fans will be able to watch live action from 8a.m. to 8p.m. until August 21.
Redwood, meanwhile, tipped FLOW's brand ambassador, World Junior 400m hurdles champion Jaheel Hyde to make the Olympic team.
"We are backing him to make it there. He is going to be a part of making Jamaica proud," stressed Redwood.
Kayon Wallace, director of corporate communications and stakeholder management at FLOW, said every week Jamaicans can expect a FLOW fan experience with a lot of fun, energy, excitement and value.
