Tyquendo Tracey finished fourth in heat two of the Men's 100m first round with a time of 10.21 seconds.
Defending champion Justin Gatlin of the USA won the race in 10.06 seconds.
Canadian Andre Degrasse finished second in 10.13 seconds and Great Britian's Adam Gemli came third in 10.19.
Despite his time, Tracey was quick enough for him to go through among the six fastest losers to qualify for the semi-finals.
