Jamaica’s Chanice Porter has advanced to the final of the Women's Long Jump at the IAAF World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar.

Porter, who competed in qualification Group A, produced a 6.57-metre jump on her final attempt to land a place in the top 12.

Her compatriot, Tissanna Hickling failed to advance as her effort of 6.49 metres was not enough to secure a place in the final.

Only three athletes in the top 12 met the automatic qualifying distance of 6.75m.

The women's long jump final will take place tomorrow at 12:15pm.
