Champs 2022 | Jago's Alves leads field into Girls' javelin final

St Jago High School's Jamora Alves, the event favourite, leads all qualifiers into the final of the Girls’ Javelin Throw Open at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Athletics Championships at the National Stadium on Tuesday morning.
Alves heaved the implement a distance of 42.84m in the preliminary round of the competition, a mark more than 6m ahead of her nearest rival Sheniela Williams, of Edwin Allen (36.60m).
They will be joined in the final tomorrow by Sherika Christie of Hydel (36.60), G’Nea Pitt of St Catherine (36.38), Natalie Albert of St Catherine (34.48), Natassia Burrell of Hydel (34.37), St Jago's Chrishale McCarthy (34.13m), and Holmwood Technical's Cedricka Williams of Holmwood (33.84).
