Jamaica’s World Championships finalist Natoya Goule produced the fastest time in the heats of the women’s 800 metres at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England on Tuesday.

Goule won Heat 2 in one minute 58.39 seconds, ahead of Scotland’s Laura Muir in 1:58.84, to advance to Saturday's final. The first two in each of three heats and the next two fastest advanced to the final.

Goule is the Caribbean’s lone finalist. The field in the final is completed by Kenya’s Mary Moraa, Uganda’s Halimah Nakaayai, Scotland’s Laura Muir, England’s Alexandra Bell, Canada’s Lindsey Butterworth, England’s Keely Hodgkinson and Australia’s Catriona Bisset. Saturday's final is set for 1:45 p.m. Jamaica time.
