CG2022 | Men's 100m: Bailey-Cole, Jones advance, Ellis out

Kemar Bailey-Cole and Conroy Jones are safely through to the semi-finals of the men’s 100 metres but Nigel Ellis failed to progress beyond the heats at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England on Tuesday.
Bailey-Cole who competed in Heat 4, finished second behind Nigeria’s Raymond Ekevwo. Ekevwo stopped the clock at 10.14 seconds while Bailey-Cole crossed the line in 10.15.
Jones won Heat 6 in 10.28 to finish ahead of Scotland’s Adam Thomas who was second in 10.30.
Running in Heat 3, Ellis placed third in 10.41. That race was won by South Africa’s Akani Simbine in 10.10
The men’s 100m semi-finals are set for Wednesday, starting at 1:10 p.m. Jamaica time.
