Jamaica’s lone representative in the men’s long jump, Shawn-D Thompson, is through to the final after leaping to 7.85 metres in qualification at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England on Tuesday.

India’ Sreeshankar Sreeshankar was the only qualifier to leap beyond the automatic 8.00m qualification mark, with his 8.05m effort.

The 12-man final is set for Thursday, starting at 12:42 p.m. Jamaica Time.
