CG2022 | Thompson-Herah leads Jamaican trio into 100m semis

Jamaica’s trio of Elaine Thompson-Herah, Natalliah Whyte and Remona Burchell have advanced to the semi-finals of the women’s 100 metres at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England.

Thompson-Herah won Heat 2 in 10.99 seconds ahead of England’s Imani Lansiquot who finished second in a season’s best 11.15.

Natalliah Whyte who ran in Heat 6, also topped her race, stopping the clock at 11.31 ahead of Australia’s Anang Naa.

In the seventh and final heat, Remona Burchell had to play second fiddle to St Lucia’s Julien Alfred who won in 11.24, while Burchell stopped the clock at 11.46.

The semi-finals are set for Wednesday, starting at 1:35 p.m. Jamaica Time.
