Caribbean glory in women’s 400 metres in Lausanne
World Championships silver medallist Maruleidy Paulino of the Dominican Republic led a Caribbean podium finish, winning the women's 400 metres at the Diamond League meet in Lausanne, Switzerland today.
Paulino clocked 49.87 seconds for victory while World Championships bronze medalist and Commonwealth Games champion Sada Williams was second in 49.94. Paulino's compatriot Fiodaliza Cofil was third in 50.13 seconds.
World Championships’ 4x400 metres silver medalist Candice McLeod finished fourth in 50.80 seconds and World Championships bronze medalist Stephenie-Ann McPherson was seventh in 51.63.
