Reggae Girlz blanked 3-0 in Cup of Nations

Jamaica were defeated 3-0 by Spain in their Cup of Nations tournament opener this morning at the Industre Group Stadium in Gosford Australia.

Maite Oroz opened the scoring in the 18th minute from close range and Esther Gonzalez doubled their advantage in the second minute of first half stoppage time.

Second half substitute Fiamma Benitez extended the lead in the 78th minute to complete the win in the first ever international meeting between the two countries.

Jamaica's next game will be against the Czech Republic on Saturday at 10:50 p.m. Jamaica time. The Czech Republic lost 4-0 to hosts Australia in their tournament opener this morning.

The tournament is being used as preparation for this summer's FIFA Women 's World Cup.
