Britannia and Britannie Johnson added to Jamaica’s medal tally at the 50th Carifta Games on in Nassau Bahamas this morning.

In the morning session of day two, the twins mined gold and silver in the women’s under-20 shot put, with Britannia throwing 14.54 metres to top all throwers, while Brittanie’s 13.74 was good enough to land her above St Lucia’s Joy Edward, 13.53.

Britannia had the competition sewn up with her second-round throw of 14.25 but extended her lead with her fifth attempt, while Britannie had anxious moments after her fourth-round effort was challenged with Edward’s final throw.
