#Carifta2023 | Jamaica end Carifta50 with 1600m-relay sweep, Austin Sealy Award
Jamaica closed the show at the 50th Carifta Games inside the Thomas A Robinson Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas with a clean sweep of the 4x400-metre relays and the Austin Sealy Award to boot.
At the end of a dramatic night, Roshawn Clarke was named the Austin Sealy Award winner after his fantastic 49.92-second win in the 400-metre hurdles, not long after his second leg in the under-20 4x400 led to a dominant win for the Jamaicans.
In fact, all four categories displayed dominance, with the under-17 girls winning the title in 3:43.43 minutes ahead of Barbados, 3:50.49, and Bahamas, 3:51.60. The under 17 boys destroyed the field in 3:19.04, with the Bahamas, second in 3:20.47, and Trinidad and Tobago, third in 3:23.74.
The under-20 girls took the crown in 3:33.35 with Trinidad and Tobago, second in 3:44.19, and Bahamas third, in 3:47.68.
The under-20 boys won in 3:07.68, with Trinidad and Tobago, second in 3:09.97, and the Bahamas, third in 3:12.96.
