Following their draw with Brazil, the Reggae Girlz are set to reap the advantages of a revised World Cup prize pool as they advance to the round of 16.

Under the new prize package, the Jamaicans will take home $US60, 000 each for reaching to the last 16 of the Women's World Cup.

In 2022, a contingent of footballers lobbied FIFA for an increase in the remuneration for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. They requested for a prize pool equivalent to that of the Men's World Cup, insisting that a part of the prize money be allocated directly to the players.

Concurring with their request, FIFA ensured that a sizable portion of the prize purse would be directly transferred to the participating players, all 732 of them.

Every player is guaranteed a minimum of US$30,000, with potential increments as their teams advance in the competition.

The champions' squad, comprised of 23 players, will receive $270,000 each.

FIFA will disburse a total of $10.5 million to the victorious country, of which $6.21 million will be shared among the players and the remaining $4.29 million will go to their federation.
