Racing United registered their third straight draw, while Treasure Beach had their fourth in a row after both teams played out a 0-0 draw in the Jamaica Premier League at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex yesterday.

Both teams created good chances over the course of the match but only had a point to show at the end, and both teams thought they were let down in front of goal.

“This is another point towards what we want, which is safety, and we move closer towards that,” said Treasure Beach coach Kemar Ricketts.

“We would have wanted the three points. We grew into the game and if we were better in front of the goal, we would have won the game,” he added.

Racing captain Markovich Brown said it was good to keep a clean sheet, but was disappointed not to get on the scoreboard.

“We conceded a few goals in the last game and we came back today and got the clean sheet. We didn’t get the win, but I think it was a good game.

“We have drawn 15 games and its better to draw than lose. Without those draws we would be in seventh or eighth place. Our problem is converting the chances and we will have a surprise coming very soon,” he concluded.

Treasure Beach had the better of the first part of the first half, with Damani Miller, Karim Bryan, and Lajone Livingston getting in good shots at goal.

However, it was Racing who created the first real chance after 28 minutes, but Jevaughn Brown placed his header wide from a corner.

Racing’s Tajay Grant came closest to scoring, but his well-struck effort from the edge of the area hit the post and rebounded into play before being cleared.

Daniel Hardy had a good chance for Treasure Beach near the end of the period, but could not keep his header on target.

After the break, Chevany Willis had two threatening shots from the top of the box for Racing.

While Chambers had a header from close range saved on the line, Navardo Blair had a shot from six yards deflected over for Treasure Beach. Kadean Young then responded by dragging a glorious chance wide minutes later.

However, two minutes from the end, it took Aaron Enill’s spectacular save to deny Orian Titus’ powerful strike from 25 yards to give Racing a point.

Racing are third on 54 points, seven behind leaders Montego Bay United. Treasure Beach are 11th with 31 points, four above rhe relegation zone.
