Clinton launches TV ads ahead of Virginia primary
VIRGINIA, (AP):
Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton's campaign is launching a television advertising campaign in Virginia ahead of the March 1 primary.
Clinton's campaign announced in a news release yesterday, that it is running its first Virginia TV ads in the Richmond market.
The campaign said the 30-second spots, which highlight Clinton's record on foreign policy, women's rights and other issues, are part of an initial six-figure advertising buy. The campaign didn't disclose exactly how much it will spend.
Clinton is running against Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders for the Democratic nomination. She enjoys a lead in Virginia polls and has the support of both the state's US senators and Governor Terry McAuliffe.
Virginia is one of 11 states that will make up the so-called Super Tuesday Democratic primary contests on March 1.
