Doctors Without Borders condemns murder of one of their colleagues
PORT AU PRINCE:
The head of the Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Mission in Haiti, Aline Serin, has condemned the murder of a staff member who was shot on his way home from work.
“Moise was our colleague and our friend, and now he is another victim of the chronic violence in Haiti. The hospital where he worked takes care of patients with life-threatening injuries, based solely on the severity of their medical needs,” Serin said.
The MSF said that the father of three children did not resist his assailants and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
He is today one more victim of the chronic violence that affects the whole of Haitian society, which has continued to grow for years, the MSF added.
MSF, or Doctors Without Borders, reopened its Tabarre trauma hospital in November 2019 during high tensions and protests over Haiti’s political, economic and social crises.
