Lotto Classic postponed
Yesterday's Labour Day Lotto Classic raceday at Caymanas Park was postponed due to the current instability in mainly Kingston and St Andrew. The Supreme Ventures-sponsored Classic has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 29. The 12-race programme remains the same but all races will be redrawn.
Scotiabank JNBS draw
Scotiabank Group and Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) played to a 2-2 draw in a Western Sports Kingston and St Andrew Business House Division One match on Sunday. Stefan Bartley (12th) and Donovan Hibbert (37th) were the scorers for ScotiaBank while Kinario Williams (5th) and Kirk Powell (66th) scored for JNBS.
In a Division Two match, E-Services and JUTC played to a 1-1 draw. Raynaldo Wright opened the scoring for JUTC in the 7th minute and Dwayne Thompson equalised for E-Services in the 43rd. The Division Two matches scheduled for today have all been postponed due to the current civil unrest in Kingston. The matches scheduled were Red Stripe vs Jamaica Fire Brigade; National Housing Trust vs Grace Kennedy and National Land Agency vs Wray & Nephew.
Under-23 training on hold
The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) has postponed a National Under-23 training camp which was scheduled to begin today. The camp was called to continue preparations for participation in the Central American and Caribbean Games to be held in Puerto Rico in July.
The postponement, according to a release from the JFF, is due to the instability in the country and out of concern for the safety of the players, the technical and support staff who would have been involved. The preparations, the release added, will resume when normality returns to the island and movement is safe for all.

Scotiabank Group defeated Peak Bottling 2-0 to cop the Catherine's Peak/Western Sports One Day Five-A-Side trophy and $30,000 last Saturday at the National Water Commission (NWC) playing field, Mona. Twenty-four teams participated in this year's renewal. The teams were placed in four groups of six teams, with the top two advancing to the quarter-finals.
The quarter-finals saw Peak Bottling clipping Jamaica Broilers 2-1, Scotiabank Group stopped Maritime & Transport 2-0, G4S defeated Kingston Wharves 3-1 and Quality Fast One Builders edged Island Grill 1-0. In the semi-finals Peak Bottling stopped G4S 3-1 and Scotiabank Group clobbered Quality Fast One Builders 6-1.
New executive for JSA
The Jamaica Surfing Association (JSA) had its annual general meeting at the Jamnesia Surf Club on the May 22 where the membership elected a new executive.
Billy Wilmot remains the president. The other members of the executive are vice president north - Richard Curtis, vice president south - Inilek Wilmot, secretary - Claudette Wilmot, treasurer - Eugene Miller, junior executive, north - Anthony Taylor, junior executive, south - Ackeam Phillips, contest director - Icah Wilmot, environment representative - Yves Yearwood.
