The decision to marry

By rearranging the letters in the article's title, "The Decision to Marry" several anagrams emerged (www.anagrams.com). Examples are "This adroit ceremony"; "Tits. Hairdo. Ceremony"; "Erotic man, he so dirty!"; "So, tradition eh? Mercy!" and "I'm erotic honey! Darts?" On a serious note, however, marriage is a legal and personal commitment that should not be entered into lightly. Before getting married, couples should educate themselves about the legal, emotional and physical consequences.

According to Hipperon, "If we want to marry, it must be with the right person. If it's not the right person, it is better not to marry". He questions whether marriage is even more important than education or career, because it's the right person; surely he/she will help me in that and other facts of life. Given this thesis, one may ask the question: If everyone were to marry, wouldn't that kill the prospects of singlehood and the industry which supports it?

Marry or burn

Many proponents of marriage quote the apostle Paul, who says of a person not born with the gift of celibacy, "Let them marry, it is better to marry than burn." The idea of "burning" is being constantly plagued with impure desires. Paul believed that a person who realises that he/she does not want to be single will make the decision that marriage is best for them in God's time. One has the right not to agree to marriage, especially when there is uncertainty about one's feelings.
