Toya heads to Styleweek 2K10

 Downsound Records artiste Toya will be launching her clothing line, Toyanik, during this year's staging of Styleweek Jamaica 2K10.

She is expected to grace the runway Sunday during a 15-minute presentation which will see her model avant-garde designs in casual wear, swimwear and formal dresses, before doing a song.

The singer, whose hot new single, Boss Lady, is number 14 on the Hype TV charts, opened up about the inspiration behind her new line.

"Toyanik reflects my own personal fashion sense. I came up with the designs myself, and I collaborated with my designer, Kenya, to bring my dreams to life. The line is reflective of my own ideas and personality, which lean towards female empowerment and independence in what can be deemed a male-dominated world. I am leading a whole new generation of boss ladies," the deejay said.

No stranger to being at the top of the charts, Toya scored a number-one hit on the Fiwi Choice top 10 and the Jamaica Music countdown with Hot Like a Fire.
